So they sodof clashing with the carthaginians, who ware the great colonial power of the western med Mediterranean. And so they suddenly emerge absolutely rock hard, battle hardened military establishment just at exactly the wrong time for the hellenistic kingdoms. But that's when sillinder romans start looking hallow.
