The False Promise That Oil Will Bring Us Jobs
I think that like the thing that I've been thinking about a lot is that basically these people, both in other countries and in the US, have been put in the position of being reliant on oil companies for economic development. So how do you deal with that kind of like, is it a false promise that oil is going to help people? Or is there some benefit to these folks? Yeah. You know, if you want that, then you have to like put your money where your mouth is. And doing that is really expensive. It also requires a level of scale and technical feasibility that doesn't exist in a lot of countries.
