Don kesler was the man who essentially invented this field, or started thinking about the problem of space debris. The idea is that if debris collisions produce more debris at a higher rate than it can be naturally removed by humans, then you can end up with just a an impassable cloud around the earth. i went and the nassa johnson space center has a whole debris office with ike dozens of people in it who study this professionally for their whole rears. So what i did was i took this original figure, this original paper by kesler from 78, and i looked in all these reports from the johnson space centre talking about the different events that have happened
