The Secret Service - A Novel Review
The narrator is a bag maker who lives alone in an apartment above their shop. One day a customer asked the narrator to make a bag to hold a human heart. He realizes he will have to see the exposed heart at some point, a prospect that terrifies him. But when it actually happens, the narrator finds it's not so bad. It could fit in the palm of my hand. A pale pink membrane of delicate muscle tissue surrounded it. What extraordinary breath taking beauty would it feel amp if i kept it in my hands? Would the membrane rupture if i gave it a squeeze? Could i feel it beating? Feel it from my caresses?
