Constitutionalize the Political Economy
Even if there's a place for constitutionalizing rules against various bits of small bore rent seeking, i think the idea of constitutionalze the whole of political economy is always a fantasy. The existing incumbents don't ever favor the ability of their stuff rat to get sold out from under them. Theyre the contemporary equivalents of the feudal landowners who hated having all their economic possessions put up into the world of market competition. And it's a set of interests that, while they're anti left, an anti socialist, then that sounds great. But while they're also anti market, right? They're deeply committed to the protection of incumbent economic advantage, which markets tend to undermine.
