Shell was the right guy for the job. This was a grizzled sort of veteran of building software systems that could work on the internet. There were not many people who could do that at that point in time. Shell's friend, John Wainwright, makes the first purchase on April 3, 1995,. A book called Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies by Douglas Hofstadter. Doug Hofstadter wrote Girdle Esharbach.
