The Development of Bronze Working in China

The technique used is called piece mould casting. This involves the creation of a dummy object in clay, which would be fired before being encased in wet clay. The wet clay would then be removed into pieces, and these pieces would be fired. After discarding the dummy object, we would be left with the pieces which would fit together to create mould. So the molten bronze would be set within the clay mould pieces to create the desired object. And this process could be repeated numerous times using the same mould pieces over again.
