Is There a Parking Policy Mistake in Delhi?
In about 2010, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi announced a one-time parking fee. In 2018, they wanted to accrue that fee. I think that is a dangerous precedent. We have since then seen multiple things due to the very poor equality in the city. So for example, in 2017, we did see an escalation in on-street parking fees due to pollution and the ordinary trial, slicing street number trials. They're trying to move in the right direction, but it's a difficult thing to do when you've got these incumbent contractors who are very resistant to change and entitled motorists. It's difficult to redesign the streets in this context as well.
