Is the Gospel of John a Forgery?
Misquoting Jesus with Bart Ehrman
The Forgery of the Catholic Bible
The term forgery is used to refer to an author who presents himself as someone other than who he is. Author might put a pseudonym on his text of actually taking on a false name. An author can also go ahead and at least imply that he is someone else while falling short of directly identifying himself. A great example is the wisdom of Solomon, this forgery that now forms part of the Catholic Bible. It never claims directly to be written by Solomon in its actual text.
