The idea of a meaningful life is to figure out based on the socially inherited matrix where you fit into it and be okay with that. I do think he's pulling us straight from Durkheim, says Peter Burger. We can't just disengage from it. Even if we're resisting, we have to be engaged with and understand the norms.
