The El-Tros Impact Crater
This is a control experiment on the El-Tros impact which was a planned impact in 2009 of the upper stage of the Centaur rocket that launched the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. And so this one being roughly the same size of impactor, the rockets aren't too different in size and roughly the same velocity. So how deep that crater excavated tells us how deep the ice might be buried at the poles. How close were we in our predictions for how big this crater should be compared to how big it actually is? That's what I'm going to be looking at.
