The Cost of Self-Censorship in Europe
20 years after 9-11 there is a climate particularly in Europe but also North America way it's become a risk to one's life and reputation to speak about Islam. The Danish cartoons crisis which erupted in 2005, 2006 was a test of how bad is the self-censorship in Europe that turned out to be really bad. Yale University Press is afraid to publish a scholarly book about the Danish cartoons crisis with the books in it because of the risk of harm to the people involved. A lot of these failures were compounding failures they built upon each other mistake upon mistakes I have very dim views about the Bush administration's approach to Iraq and the surge.
