The Broken Window Fallacy
Bostio wrote in the middle of the nineteenth century that if there's a bunch of hooligans ta throw a brick through a window, this is great for the glass maker. What you don't see when you look at the benefit o the glass maker is what the guy who owned the store was going to do with the money he got from repairing it. And so when we talk about wars and hurricanes as if they're good for an economy, i don't think people realize how stupid what theyr saying really is. It's just the broken window fallacy on steroids.
