How to Invest in Your Kids' Investments

My kids' investments are an informal trust with direct shares through St. George. We put $20 a fortnight and we've kept that, regardless of whatever's happened in the last 14 years. When they hit 18, because their names are already in it, soft market transfer gets changed straight into their names. There's no capital gains tax event, and it's just handed to them. And I can prove hand-on-heart across the entire 14 years for the oldest and the 10 years for the youngest, we haven't spent a dollar of any of the income,. It is in their name and remains in their name, and we'll do so.
