Williams's Personality in Politics
Williams is treated as an example of a larger problem concerning personality in carabbean politics. James writes, williams formed a party, it is true, but his main concern is not the party, but the government. His conceptions of government are essentially that the masses are to be whipped up to give the leaders authority and power after that the government will do everything. As we'll see, this issue will continue to arise in mid century african as when richard wright is criticized for embracing the rule of autocrats in de colonializing africa.
