The Importance of Fundamental Consciousness
The illusion of fundamental consciousness seems much stronger than other illusions. This unique counterintuitive nature is at the heart of the explainer-nondum of the illusion problem. Illusionists must explore the consequences of their view for other domains, one fascinating case concerns ethics. I think that ethical views that do not give a uniquely important role to states such as pain and pleasure in grounding value tend to fit better with illusionism than views that do. So personally it does not at all strictly from my illusionism, I'm increasingly attracted to some sort of perfectionist, Aristotelian view of ethics.
