Ep 85 Alcohol: Beer for Thought

This Podcast Will Kill You

CHAPTER

The History of Alcohol

Most countries that attempted some form of prohibition or other did so in a fairly short window of time, from around 19 14 to 19 33. It wasn't until the 19 forties that we understood the exact mechanism of fermentation and more specific guide lines for what could be considered safe consumption. Attitudes towards alcohol, on both individual and cultural levels became more anced as we gained a better handle on what it does to our bodies, to our health, to our relationships with each other. Alcohol use disorder has been increasingly part of the discussion. And the stigma surrounding not drinking, for whatever reason you choose, has also less and somewhat,. although still ta kind of a long way to go there.
