The Revolt of France - A Brief History

By the middle of august, bordeaux was pulling back from its loft dreams of everyone getting together and marching on the capital. In the east, both leon and marseilles were themselves facing the prospect of fighting regular army troops who were now redirected from their bases along the alpine border to come down and retake the rebel cities. What all that meant was that, just as the allies were anticipating the imminent collapse of france, france was instead transforming itself into a massive war machine.
