Rent can be a little confusing, so let me explain myself. Let's start with the word rent. And you might think, oh, it's pretty easy, pretty straightforward. Actually, no, it can be alittle confusing. If you say to rent a flat or an apartment or a house or another type of building to rent, it could mean that you're paying money to live there and receiving money from someone who lives there. They both happen to be the same verb.
