The Fear of God in Nehemiah

Nehemiah became governor in the land of Judah. The governors were allowed because of their position, a certain privilege to take money from the people for their own daily food and rations. Nehemiah doesn't have an easy job. What he's been called to actually do is really hard. But what can easily and slowly but ever so insidious, it can seep into our minds, into our hearts, is the cynicism of, you know, Lord, I've given up quite a bit.
