Is There a Difference Between Synesthesia and Non-Synesthetic Brain?
synesthesia is so variable that you could imagine that actually somebody who takes words and somebody who has colour for music would have nothing in common. But we do believe there is some commonality, both at the level of the way the brains are structured but also taking it back a step in terms of the genes that cause the brains to be structured in certain ways. It's not necessarily a problem, as I say, for these people, it's just a different way of being,. but it is genuine, it is there as a biological difference in the brain and in the genes as well.
