If wages don't keep pace, with price increases, income shifts from the pockets of workers into the pockets of businesses. And that's exactly what's happening in this country. A country hit by poverty is now witnessing an income transfer from the poor to the rich which is of historic proportions. The impact on working people has been worse than in most other countries. British people who are already unequal and poor, more than elsewhere in Western Europe. We've had disruption of production in incredible ways. We've lost productive capacity in a number of sectors.
