NxJS - What's Next?
NxJS was built on top of Webpack, which was JS based. But as the code bases grew, especially with the rise of TypeScript,. Babel and Tursor couldn't keep up. So we decided to move to Rust, which can do the work. In an early release of next JS, we replaced Babel, which is the thing that transpiled JS and type stripped. We replaced that with SWC, which is a Rust based alternative to Babel. The change from that was incredible. And that gives us a lot of confidence that, hey, if we switch to Rust to do this very predictable transformation of inputs into outputs, I would say, right? Like, yes
