The History of the Coronation

Every monarch since Edward the second in 1308 has sat on the coronation chair. The wooden throne was commissioned by Ed with the first in 1296 to contain the stone of destiny or the Scottish coronation stone. Kings of Scotland were traditionally crowned while seated on this stone. Richard the third's coronation is particularly interesting because his wife and Neville is crowned during the same ceremony. There were only three others between the conquest and Bosworth, five points for each of them that you can name.
