Hemingway wrote to have and have an aunt which was published in 1937 it was the only novel he wrote in the 30s. Hemingway would spend a lot of time at bimini during this period forced by dire forces into running contraband between cuba and florida. He also worked on his first novel, The Sun Also Rises (1936) that is heavily influenced by marxist ideology. It's about an ordinary working-class man who tries to make money out of black market activity as part of economic depression.
