The first case against Commonwealth Bank was so damning it was like a 650 odd page statement of claim. What we saw there was really gruesome detail into the way that organised crime had infiltrated the institution. The justification for I believe was to reduce headcount in the banks because with the intelligent deposit machines customers would do their banking on the street front. So if you were an organised crime group you could send your mules down to Australia and they would pick up cash from a drug dealer who had a backpack full of cash.
