In complex systems, you can't separate the problems that way. You have to think about the whole complex thing better. Almost no proposition ever voted on gets 90% of the vote. It gets 51 fuen % of the vote, which means half of the people think it's terrible. And we will increasingly polarize against each other over something where we could have found a more unifying solution.
