Comedy Central's John Sutter looks at the rise of K-pop in South Korea. The first group to really break through internationally was the Kim sisters, who sang for American GIs during the Korean War. In the 1990s, major music studios started putting performers together in boy and girl bands. To this day, those signature elements remain a very important element of K- pop.
