Build the Modular Monolith First
A monolith is a single program and in large systems, you might have multiple copies of it running on different servers for redundancy. A microservice architecture is really more of a collection of a series of programs, each of which runs in its own space. The advantage of a microservice is mostly an organizational one because by being able to build these little independent pieces of software, you can have relatively independent teams working on them.

We cover how this relatively new approach will help you package your code for use on your system or for sharing with others.
Christopher shares a Real Python tutorial about using pathlib to get a list of all the files within a directory. We’re both fans of pathlib and how it simplifies working with file paths. The tutorial digs into methods to recursively list all directory contents or create a conditional listing.
