Is It a Good Idea to Limit Self-Disclosure in Therapy?

One of the principles that were taught in our training as psychotherapists or psychologists is to very much limit self-disclosure. It's a way of keeping the psychologist or the therapist maybe externalized just a little bit so there's not that proximity that unleashes that dynamic. So you know, framing it in the context of like an external mediator and an internal mediator, I think makes a lot of sense to me.
