Introduction

Staff Sergeant Arthur E. Bader was a unique special forces green buret. He had earned and lost three separate fortunes in between three terms in the service. On his last night at FOB-1 before shipping out to FOB-6, I played in a poker game where he won a lot of money. The longer we played, the more money Bader-1 became morose. We all tried to josh him out of his dark mood, but failed. A few minutes later, the green hornet roared into the new LZ, picked us up, and returned us to base.
