Hutchings House - A Memoir
Hutching sold his publishing business for a nice profit, bought the hotel and renamed it hutchings house. Yosemite was unsurveyed, and according to the law, filing a claim was all a man needed to do to name territory as his own. Hutching saw himself as the father of this mythical rough land. But he was happy to share his knowledge and wisdom with any one for a price.
