The Year of the Golden Throne in Ancient Babylonia

Father Kugler discovered that ancient Babylonian texts referred to a year of the Golden Throne. He used modern astronomy to determine which year in the past Venus had that particular sequence of positions on the sky. This would then fix the year of theGolden Throne to a date in the modern Gregorian calendar. The establishment of this date then fixed a whole host of other dates from ancient Babylonia.
