The Bad News About the Adaptation
Chris Columbus can only make movies identical to the book or completely unrecognizable. There are things I like about this adaptation, but the script as a whole is terrible. His biggest objection is that the characters get aged up a lot. At one point he says, please do not quote unquote, sex up my children's story.
