Dr. Matthew Scrag made the allegations against Sylvain in 2021. It took about six months to research the publication thoroughly, but Science Magazine admitted in July 2022 that they found about 70 instances of possible image tampering throughout Sylvain's studies. Some articles allege that, for all we know, maybe it doesn't even exist in humans to begin with. The Associate Director of Research at Alzheimer's Society says we don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
