You've taken a fair amount of heat from perhaps your peers, others with at least others within the evangelical community for these kinds of dialogues. What do you think is behind the nervousness that some evangelicals have toward that kind of dialogue with people with whom we disagree? I think we have a learned tendency from our own history of confrontation, of denunciation. A lot of it really does have to do with a deep desire to preserve the authority of the scriptures.
