These people who will later on be called the haka people from the central plai of china. The sea ban, you all recall, was that edict issued by kangshi that forced everyone to move inland. And this indirectly led to a lot of haka people settling down in the rich and bountiful gwantong province. It was no different for these haka chinese in jamaica than it was for many of their haka brethren in other lands, living under similar circumstances.
