How to Overcome Toxic Church Experiences

One of the responses to toxic or abusive church experiences for people is to fall into the character trap. And what that assumes is that good character will overcome bad systems, right? As much as many toxic leaders have shaped abusive communities, it's also true that those communities over a long period of time have shaped them too. So I guess some of the questions these churches might want to ask is like what systems and what structures are producing a culture of harm? What structures are producing?
