Is There an Opportunity for a Company to Use a Currency?

I think you're right about the scarcity. And i wonder, because another function of currencies usually is that they are a store of value. If there's some way of originating a currency that does not involve some one with fiot ability to create as much of it as they want, that's going to be hugely important. I can understand the scepticism of having a corporation involved in something like this, or ceding that power to them. In the same way, we might have the same aversion to ceding the power to the government to do that.
