The Blind Man's World

What struck me the most is the attempt to translate sight into different modalities, and often that is achieved by the partially sighted or blind artists in the exhibition. I was particularly struck by one work by Emily Louise Gozio, an American artist who was blinded by an accident in 2010 when she was 21 years old. She kept a kind of a color diary, but she associated each color with a memory. And so the color doesn't really necessarily exist out there in the world, but in something within. So I thought that was kind of an interesting thread to the show, the translation from one modality to another.
