How to Fuel Up Your Energy During a Workout on the Bike

Athletes with a high training load should have an extra snack before every workout. It can be very challenging to keep those glycogen stores anywhere near full when your trainingload is high. There's a time and place for having real food while you're on the bike but gels or sports drinks are better than fruit bananas during long rides. The best way to figure out is to try both options and see what gives you the best performance in that morning workout.
