Floyd Gibbons' Letter to the United States
Floyd Gibbons was shot three times on his march across the wheat field with the Marines and to his credit as a member of the press. He lost an eye permanently after ricocheting machine gun bullets entered his face through his jaw, split his eye, and then came out. The sensor believed that these were Floyd Gibbons' last words before it could be written up in the papers.
