When caroline and i first started this, we thought it was going to be the typical writr illustrator relationship. Caroline would write some and then she wouldt pass it to me. I would draw a little bit and pass it back to her,. It kind of went back and forth like a conversation. Yei really real ed early i thought, ihav never collaborated before. But i had this idea that i would write the whole book and hand it to the illustrator, who i happened to be also sleeping with, and she would then illustrate it. That's just so much fun. There are some things in the book that are just irresistible to draw."
