When human beings have our identity threatened, we feel like there is a them who is out to get us. And the story that we've told about ourselves and our nation is being undermined or being sort of challenged,. That is a visceral reaction. I think it also gets to, and let's just touch another part of the CRT debate, because when you dive into CRT, one of the salient aspects of it is that it has a very grim view of American history.
