How to Find Balance and Dynamic in Portrait Photography
I used to do a lot of research on the individual before I was photographing them. And actually, I found that's a bit of a hindrance because you've come to the shoot with too much knowledge about the person. So now instead of doing kind of that kind of research, I'll just do more image-based research. That means when I meet them on the day, I can have a conversation with them without knowing all the answers already. It just feels much more organic and spontaneous than secretly knowing what their children are called and where they live.
