The election of donald trump changed people's understanding of what america felt. Their scores on the acceptability of prejudice for the trump targeted groups went up, but not the ones he didn't target. The interesting thing about this is that people's own prejudices did not go up following their sense that America accepted it. And in fact, to a small degree, our participants, both trump supporters and clinton supporters, said they went down a little bit in prejudicedness.
