The Rise of the Warrior Identity

The men buried at Necarsolm speak to broader trends that were happening after about 1300 BC. Analysis of a large sample of swords found in burials during this period shows they were almost always notched from use, sharpened and re-sharpened over and over again. A warrior identity was not the same thing as simply taking part in fighting. But identities are crafted and presented to the world.
