The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
Alex and Annabel decided to base the play on a novel. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak is about a young girl living in Nazi Germany who reads aloud to her neighbors in a bomb shelter. By late March, Russian forces were being pushed out of Kiev. Alex and Annabel say that's when they decided to put on the play. They would do it at the shelter. There were 15 people in the audience. But they also live streamed the play and thousands and thousands of people from all over the world watched.
