The Patient Underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging of His Brain and Sensitive Neural Hearing Loss
The patient was seen by the consulting endocrine team and felt to have secondary adrenal insufficiency, as well as primary hypothyroidism. Other considerations included autoimmune destruction of ACTH-producing cells, an underlying genetic disorder, and other identified damage to the pituitary. He was started on hydrochordicone and levothyroxin and has been doing quite well as an outpatient. In his strange presentation in history of sensory neural hearing loss, he was referred to medical genetics for further evaluation, which is ongoing.
