I think in the final analysis it comes from our own individual fear of death if that is what we have personally I'm not afraid of death it's stupid to be afraid of something you can't do anything about. We were once just hunters and gatherers many people starving to death living only 30 years or 35 years on average lifetime teeth all falling out by that time probably we were living like wild animals. There are no rest homes or nursing homes for polar bears or any other wild species but they look after their older people, parks and wildlife reserves and nature places. It's very difficult to counter these stories of doom and gloom and end of the world and my job is to try
